Navigating to a submission
1
Open the cycle
From the Puddin Admissions dashboard, select the cycle that contains the submission you want to review.
2
Go to the Applicants tab
Select the Applicants tab to see the full list. Filter by Status: Submitted to show only applicants who have completed their personal statement.
3
Open the submission
Click the applicant’s name to open their profile, then click View Submission. Alternatively, click the Review icon in the applicant’s row to go directly to the review interface.
Only applicants with a status of Submitted have an active View Submission link. Applicants who are still in progress do not have reviewable submissions yet, though their writing activity is being captured.
Review interface layout
The review interface is divided into two main areas: the Document Panel on the left and the Evidence Panel on the right.Document Panel
The Document Panel shows the final text of the submitted personal statement exactly as the applicant submitted it. You can scroll through the document, select text to annotate it, and leave inline comments. The document is read-only — it cannot be edited by reviewers.Evidence Panel
The Evidence Panel contains four sections you can navigate between using the tabs at the top:Writing Activity
A summary of the applicant’s writing behaviour: total active writing time, number of sessions, words typed vs. deleted, and the overall timeline of document creation.
Paste Events
A log of every paste action recorded during writing, showing the pasted text, character count, position in the document, and timestamp. See Paste Events and Revisions.
Revision History
A chronological record of all edits, deletions, and rewrites made to the document. See Paste Events and Revisions.
Session Timeline
A breakdown of each writing session — when it started, how long it lasted, how much was written, and whether any notable events (such as a large paste) occurred during it.
Review signals summary
Directly below the applicant’s name at the top of the review interface, Puddin displays a Review Signals summary bar. This bar highlights any patterns in the writing process data that may indicate the submission warrants closer attention. Click View all signals to open the full signals panel. For a detailed explanation of what each signal means and how to use them, see Understanding Review Signals.Navigating between submissions
Use the Previous and Next arrows at the top of the review interface to move between submissions in your assigned queue without returning to the applicant list. The queue shows submissions assigned to you in the order they appear in the list view.Leaving review notes
You can add private notes to a submission at any point during review. Notes are visible to other reviewers and admissions officers assigned to the same cycle but are not shared with the applicant.- Click Add Note in the top-right area of the review interface.
- Type your note in the text field.
- Click Save Note. The note is timestamped and attributed to your account.
